The project at THE Slate House is defined by a clear architectural idea carried consistently from exterior to interior. The material palette draws on a limited selection of honest materials u2014 stone, timber, and plaster used in a way that emphasises texture over ornamentation. The ground floor is arranged for openness and connection, with the living and dining areas flowing toward the garden without the spatial hierarchy becoming rigid. Built-in joinery is designed to integrate with the architecture of the house rather than sit against it, ensuring storage and utility elements do not interrupt the spatial intention. The upper floors are quieter in character, with bedrooms treated as genuinely private retreats rather than extensions of the more active ground level. Materials are carried through in a simplified form so the house reads as a single piece of work. The result is a home that has a clear point of view without being difficult to live in.
The Slate House is a landed Semi-D project defined by a restrained material palette and strong architectural lines. From the exterior, the design is anchored by dark-toned cladding, creating a bold and grounded visual identity.
Inside, the spatial experience shifts into a softer and more refined composition. The living area features clean surfaces, muted tones, and carefully balanced lighting, allowing natural light to define the atmosphere rather than heavy decorative elements.
The kitchen follows a similar language, with streamlined cabinetry and a controlled mix of textures. The use of stone and matte finishes reinforces a sense of durability while maintaining visual calm.
Across the bedrooms, the design becomes more intimate. Soft lighting, minimal detailing, and consistent material transitions create a restful environment without breaking the overall architectural narrative of the project.
