HDBs are usually not very spacious, so it’s crucial to keep them clutter-free and well-organised to avoid feeling cramped and make the most of the available space. And hey, if you can also have some fun with it by adding secret doors and sneaky storage, why not? We’ve incorporated some exciting interior design hacks into our clients’ homes that will make you feel like you’re living in a never-ending game of hide-and-seek.

1. Bomb Shelter Begone

Ah, the bomb shelter door, a familiar feature in every HDB flat that tends to be quite an eyesore. But fear not, here’s a solution: Hide it in style by introducing a trendy fluted panel that will feel oh so tres chic.

2. Entryway Enigma

Given the limited space for front entrances in HDBs, we came up with a streamlined and concealed storage solution that efficiently tackles clutter without occupying much physical or visual space. You won’t find any bulky handles or knobs protruding here! The panel’s intricate lines also help to create the illusion of a wider space.

3. Concealed Rubbish Chute

Looking to avoid the sight of unsightly rubbish chutes if you live in an older HDB flat? Conceal them by seamlessly integrating a kitchen cabinet panel that blends in together with the rest of your cabinetry.

4. Murphy Bed

If you frequently have overnight guests, it might be worth considering a Murphy bed. This clever solution allows you to tuck it away when not in use, saving space and allowing you to keep a guest bed in the living room. That way, you can still make full use of your living room even when your guest has left.

5. Hidden Shoe Cabinet

Are you a shoeholic with a crazy amount of shoes? Well, we’ve got you covered! Our designer came up with a genius solution to create some shoe storage right by the living room feature wall. They cleverly hid it behind some beautifully designed panels, making it look like a stylish addition to the room rather than just plain old storage.

6. Secret Bathroom

You may have missed it at first glance, but this master bedroom’s en-suite bathroom entrance is quite the hidden gem. Designed with a handle-less door, it seamlessly blends into the surrounding walls, leaving you wondering where it could possibly be. It’s only when you take a closer look that its clever disguise reveals itself.

Yet another secret bathroom! This one is tucked away behind a closet door, but here’s the exciting part—before you reach the en-suite bathroom, you actually walk through the walk-in wardrobe. It’s like a hidden gem within a hidden gem!

9. Trolley Tuck

By creating an empty compartment within the lower kitchen cabinets, you can easily slide in a mobile kitchen trolley, which is a great way to hide any clutter and maintain a clean and organised kitchen.

10. Pull-out Nightstand

Nightstands can really hog a lot of space, especially in small HDB bedrooms. That’s why it’s a great idea to opt for a pull-out nightstand. It’s perfect for storing your bedside essentials when you need them, but can easily be tucked away when you don’t, freeing up some much-needed extra space.
